A Few Reviews
This is the book I was looking for!
I dabbled in learning the craft in my late teens, but stepped away for many years as I lived in a small town and it was hard to find a teacher. I wish this book existed then! I recently felt called back to the craft and have bought book after book, and while many have been wonderful, this outshines them all with a true introduction to the path. The structure of the book follows a logical course, ending with a multitude of resources a e a self dedication ritual. I’m so thankful to have found this book and highly recommend it to anyone ready to start their journey.

What being a witch really is
Great book for anyone interested in getting to know what being a witch really is! Lots of recommendations for finding a local pagan group. Well written. You really connect with the authors, and there were even pages that made me cry. This book has helped me tune in an understanding I’ve always known and felt with nature. This book also brought a deeper connection to witchy practices, meditations & ceremonies. There are lots of thought provoking information as to the history of witches, wizards and pagan beliefs, how our ancestors practiced and how & why it was stamped out by mass religion. If you are looking for creating more connection and gratitude with the earth/universe, then this is the book for you!

My heart really resonates
I really LOVE this book! I find that my heart really resonates with the authors’ wonderful explanations and vision of this Path that I have chosen. In a world of many conflicting ideas of what is Truth and what is not I found the information here comforting and inspiring! I feel empowered and confident now that I am on a quest of amazing beauty and mystery quite unlike the stereotypes and misinformation I was fed most of my life. So far I have loved everything I have read from these authors. Thank you, ladies, I look forward to learning more!

A thorough, well-grounded and ethical foundation
I was looking for a book to give to a teenage girl who has become interested in witchcraft. I don’t consider myself a witch, but have studied spellcraft, and I work with many different energy anatomy systems, so some of the themes are similar, and I have some familiarity with most of the topics of this book. I found this book to be perfect for what I was after. It is well-organized and well-written, and emphasizes a strong ethical foundation. It begins with a thorough but easy to read introduction to the history of witchcraft and wicca – the latter in this book being defined as the spiritual aspect. The authors emphasize witch-hood as a path with a strong spiritual component, i.e. practiced as part of a wicca-based belief system. Not everyone would agree with that approach, but they are up front about that also.
After the introduction, the book has chapters on working with the seasons and cycles, the pentagram, tools, daily practice, the ethics of spellcraft, connecting with nature, divination and dreaming, covens and priestesses, and living in the world as a witch. Overall very comprehensive. It is introductory, but does list resources for further study in each area. If you are looking for a nice, thorough, well-grounded and ethical foundation for getting started with witchcraft and wicca, this is it.
