Okay, yes, it’s another beginning book about Wiccan witchcraft. But it’s a well-organized book with bite-sized chunks, basic information, exercises and activities that can be done solo or in a group, and resources for going deeper. It started as a resource for Wiccan/Pagan inmates, who usually don’t have experienced teachers or chaplains available. It’s really useful there, and can be the foundation for a year’s program in a study group. But it’s equally useful for a new coven anywhere, or a Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagan (CUUPS) chapter, or a Pagan spirituality study group, so we’re happy we wrote it.

So, you are curious…The world of Witchcraft and Wicca is complicated and not always easy to understand. Wicca, which can be thought of as a spiritual or religious side of Witchcraft, includes many different traditions, and “the Craft” can be practiced in as many different ways as there are individual Witches.

Making sense of it all can be a challenge. In this book, it gets easier. The authors have distilled 70+ years of Wiccan practice down to manageable lessons for those who don’t want to wade through hundreds of pages of esoteric lore. You benefit from their years of travel, networking, teaching, and learning many different aspects of Witchcraft all over the country; the Craft books that they’ve written; and their experience founding Ardantane, a not-for-profit school for Witches and other Pagans.
